Write for us!

The GC Advocate newspaper, the only newspaper dedicated to the needs and interests of the Graduate Center community, is looking for new writers for the 2009-20010 academic year. We publish six issues per year and reach a wide and diverse audience of graduate center students, faculty, and staff.

Currently we are seeking contributors for the following articles and columns:

  • Investigative articles covering CUNY news and issues
  • First Person essays on teaching at CUNY for our regular “Dispatches from the Front” column
  • First person essays on life as a graduate student for our “Graduate Life” column
  • Feature “magazine style” articles on the arts, politics, culture, NYC, etc.
  • Provocative and insightful analyses of international, national, and local politics
  • Book reviews for our regular book review column and special book review issues
  • The Advocate is also now accepting submissions of original poetry and essays
